I am Anna Mendiola, a photographer from Barcelona. I have travelled and lived in other cities, but Barcelona is what I have always considered home.

I studied Audiovisual Communication at UAB, Fashion Photography at F.D. Fashion School in Barcelona and Professional Lighting in Madrid, but above all, I have been learning on my own, relying on other artists and working.

Photography for me is related to the pause in the passage of time, something that intimidates me a lot. That’s why I aim to capture moments of calm, moments that I would like to last forever and that allow me to live, for a moment, on the margins of my world and my time.

Pere jumping on the bed in a riad in Fes, Morocco. We were on a trip and staying in a riad where beautiful light streamed in every morning. We spent the whole morning in the room resting, and I took the opportunity to take photos of him.

A girl looking at the sea at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, Indonesia. It hypnotizes me how small we are and how immense the nature surrounding us can be.

2020: Nusa Penida, Indonesia

A photo from above, before descending the endless stairs of Diamond Beach in Nusa Penida, Indonesia. I didn’t understand why no one was swimming until I got down and realized that it was practically impossible to enter the water due to the force of the waves.
