Alexa von Arnim, a German-French-American photographer and visual consultant whose work sits between photography, travel, fashion and contemporary visual culture.
Raised between different cultures and constantly travelling to visit her multicultural family, Alexa has always been drawn to the idea of the souvenir — not only as an object brought home, but as a way of collecting memories, places and fragments of experience.
Her nomadic upbringing shaped the way she sees the world. Travel became less about visiting somewhere and more about creating a sense of home through movement, observation and collection.
Alexa began her career as a fashion photographer in Paris before moving beyond the limitations of commercial photography. Her conceptual and organisational approach naturally led her towards visual consulting, while her personal photographic practice developed into a more independent and artistic body of work.
Alongside her photography, Alexa works as Visual Editor of GQ Germany, bringing together her interests in image-making, culture and visual storytelling.
