Hi, I’m Richie. I’m originally from the U.K. but I’ve been living in Stockholm, Sweden for 11 years. Photography had always been a hobby for me as far back as I can remember. I remember when I was little & my Grandad would always take pictures of me & my sister with various 35mm analog cameras. He’d always let me have a go & try to capture the family moments. I’ve come along since then… My first camera was a Nikon FG20, the beauty of capturing a moment & not knowing how the photo was going to turn out is magical for me. I would take that camera everywhere with me, travelling the world.
Living in Sweden, unless you develop/process film yourself, it can be quite expensive. So I decided to invest in a digital camera, taking travel pictures, day to day life, cars friends you name it I took it.
It wasn’t until someone asked me to photograph their wedding where I started to see photography as a profession. From then on, I quit my day job & perused it full time. I’m very fortunate that photography has given me great opportunities to travel. Which is my absolute passion. Best of both worlds, really.
I’d say my style is quite moody at times, but still with a concentrated variation of tones. I’m currently shooting with the Fuji x series equipment, which gives me the closest feeling to analog. But… every opportunity I get, I’ll still whip out my analog cameras.
